Crotin Returns to the Dodgers for 2006 Season

The Oshawa Dodgers are excited to announce the return of Ryan Crotin to the
Dodgers line-up in 2006.  Ryan previously played with the team from 2002-2004.
He spent last winter in Australia playing professionally for the
ToowoombaRangers and travelled to Germany in the summer,
playing for the Gauting Indians.  Ryan has been one of the
Dodgers top performers and holds many of the teams’ records
including Regular Season Records for Average, On Base
Percentage, Hits, Doubles, Triples, Homeruns, Runs Scored
and Total Bases.   In addition, he is the All-Time Regular Season
Record holder for Average, On Base %, Doubles and Triples.
Ryan holds the record for longest Dodger Hitting Streak at 11 games and is the
only Oshawa Dodger to have hit for the cycle.  He is also the first and only
Oshawa Dodger to be selected as an IBL First Team All-Star.  Ryan was named
Team MVP in 2002 and Playoff MVP in 2002 & 2003.  In 2005, with the Gauting
Indians, Ryan led his team in 6 offensive categories: Average, Hits, RBI, SB,
Doubles and Walks.

Dodgers’ Coach Troy May has coached Ryan 3 of the past 4 seasons and has
continually been impressed with his devotion to baseball.  “Ryan is a tremendous
athlete with an incredible work ethic.  The Dodgers are thrilled to welcome him
back to the team, not only for his awesome athletic abilities but for the significant
leadership role he will fulfil. Ryan is a player who encourages those around him to
work harder and will be a tremendous asset to the team in all capacities. He is
well-respected throughout the league for both his skill and passion for the game.”

Ryan’s love of baseball and leadership skills have recently taken on a new
dimension.  He has started his own business focusing on the baseball development
of athletes at every level.
Athletes Made in Canada is an entirely new concept
for players in athletic development.  The organizations’ core
principles are skill development, athletic development and sport
education in guiding players and coaches together in achieving
their goals. Teams or individuals can sign up for a multitude of
different programs from strength and conditioning, skills training,
career planning or one of the many combinations of programs available to players
of all ages.  Coach May, who sits on the Advisory Board of Athletes Made in
Canada, is excited about the knowledge and expertise Crotin and his qualified staff
will be able to impart in aid of baseball development, particularly in the Durham
Region. “Who better to learn the sport of baseball from than a player of Ryan’s
calibre, whose love and dedication to the game is clearly evident.  He has played
the game and excelled at every level.  Ryan’s extensive list of credentials speak
for themselves.”
