Barrie Defeats IBL All-Stars 7-2

In Barrie, Ryan Spataro had three hits, including a triple and a
run-scoring single in the second inning that helped the Baycats defeat
the IBL All-Stars 7-2 in the New Era IBL All-Star Game on Saturday.

Spataro, who won the game's MVP award, drove in two runs and
stole a base.  Toby Legace was two-for-two and Josh Matlow singled
and drove in two runs for the Baycats.

Jordan Neufeld was the winner after striking out the side in one
scoreless inning after starter Cam Newitt gave up a pair of runs in the
first inning.  Brad Grieveson, Ryan Fisher, Ken Price, John Stewart
and Derek McDaid each tossed an inning of relief.

Jeff Pietraszko of the Kitchener Panthers doubled and drove in two
runs and Brad McElroy of the London Majors doubled and scored a
run for the All-Stars.

Matt Tosoni of the Oshawa Dodgers took the loss after allowing three
runs (0 earned) in one inning of relief.

Earlier in the day, Alex Borgo of the Baycats won the Home Run
Derby while Joel Lynch of the Guelph Royals won the Throwing
Accuracy competition and Toby Legace of the Baycats won the Base
running Competition.
