Robinson Named America East Pitcher of the Week
Pitches a Complete Game, Four-Hit Shutout Against
Binghamton

BOSTON, Mass.-- University of Maine senior pitcher Scott Robinson (Ajax,
Ontario) was named the America East Pitcher of the Week on Monday, May 1,
2005. He becomes the first Maine pitcher to earn America East Pitcher of the
Week honors this season. He was also named to the College Baseball Foundation
National Honor Roll.

Robinson had a record-setting week for the Black Bears. On Wednesday, he
pitched the ninth inning in Maine's 4-3 win over Holy Cross to earn the save.
The save was the 19th of his career, tying him for the school record for career
saves. It was also his 78th career appearance, setting the school record for
career appearances.

On Friday, Robinson pitched the opener of the America East series against
Binghamton. He threw a complete game, nine-inning shutout allowing just four
hits in a 4-0 win. It was the first complete game shutout for the Black Bears this
season. He retired the last 18 batters of the game in order to pick up his
team-leading seventh victory of the season.

Robinson leads America East in wins and is tied for the league lead in saves with
four. He ranks fifth in the conference in strikeouts.

Robinson and the Black Bears return to action on Wednesday, May 3 when they
host Brown in Sanford, Maine in a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m. Maine
returns to Mahaney Diamond on Friday, May 5 when they host Albany in a 5:00
p.m. game.
