The Oshawa Dodgers are pleased to announce the
signings of RHP Gord Robertson and OF Darren
Sawyers. Robertson returns to the Dodgers after a
limited run with the team in 2004. He has since
garnered the Top Pitcher Award for the Durham
College Lords in 2005 and was named team MVP in
both 2005 and 2006.
Sawyers is a graduate of the Oshawa Legion Minor Baseball system and
was a key member of the 2005 Junior Elimination Champion Oshawa
Legionaires. “I am really excited about our team this season and the
addition of Robertson and Sawyers will only strengthen an already solid
foundation,” says manager Mike Prosper. “We have assembled a roster
of talented individuals who all have one goal in mind. With a good mix
of veterans and rookies and so much local talent our team chemistry
will be unmatched. Many of our players have played together in the
past and having experienced success with the Oshawa Junior
Legionaires, know how to win. Our re-signings and new acquisitions
should bring us deeper in the playoffs.”
