The Oshawa Dodgers would like to thank everyone in attendance on Sunday May 20th who helped to make Troy May Memorial Day a success!! The day began with a mini-clinic put on by Oshawa Dodgers players with special guest instructor, former MLB all-star, Paul Quantrill. This was followed by a special ceremony dedicated to the life and achievements of Troy May. Vice President Kerri Drake, Oshawa Dodger Ken Calway and rookie ball player Griffen Traas each gave very touching tributes to Troy. Troy's #20 was then unveiled by OLMBA president Dave Sheridan on the walls of Kinsmen Stadium. Paul Quantrill threw out the ceremonial first pitch to kick of the Oshawa Dodgers home schedule. Despite the cold and windy weather, many fans turned out to witness this momentous occasion including Oshawa and Whitby Mayors John Gray and Pat Perkins. Unfortunately the Dodgers came up short in a very well-pitched game, losing 3-1. Thank you again to everyone who contributed to making this day a success.
