The Oshawa Dodgers are excited to announce that former
MLB All-Star Paul Quantrill will be on hand May 20th
to help us celebrate Troy May Memorial Day. As one of
the most successful major league pitchers Canada has
ever produced, Quantrill holds the distinction of pitching
in more major league games than any other Canadian
pitcher, his mark of 841 eclipsing the previous record of
664 games pitched by Hall-of-Famer Ferguson Jenkins. In
2001, 2002 & 2003 he led the league in appearances and
boasts a career 3.83 ERA. Quantrill pitched six seasons with the
Toronto Blue Jays (1996-2001) in his fourteen years of Major
League Baseball, which included being named to the AL All-Star
team in his final season with the Jays. Paul was drafted by the
Boston Red Sox in the 6th round of the 1989 amateur draft playing
with the team from 1992-1994. He then went on to play for the
Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, New
York Yankees, San Diego Padres and Florida Marlins. Prior to
announcing his retirement in 2006, Quantrill represented Canada at
the World Baseball Classic. The Dodgers are thrilled to have a
pitcher of this caliber out in support of our organization on this very
special day.
