The Oshawa Dodgers are thrilled to announce IBL All-Star Stevie Lewis’ return to the Dodgers for the 2008 season. Lewis excelled in every category with the Dodgers last season. He was first in team batting with a .374 average and sixth overall in the Intercounty Baseball League. In 27 regular season games he had 34 hits including 6doubles, eight stolen bases and 9 RBI. Lewis, known for his clutch performances, came up big last season in the Dodgers’ only playoff victory against eventual IBL champion Toronto Maple Leafs when he singled to drive in the winning run in extra innings capping off a three hit, two RBI performance. Stevie was named as a 2nd team IBL all-star and captured team awards for Batting Average, On Base Percentage and Season MVP. Stevie is a Senior at Southern Nazarene University where he is currently batting .353 with 24 hits including 7 doubles, 3 home runs and 20 RBI in 22 games. “Stevie is a tremendous competitor,” says Dodgers Vice President Kerri Drake. “His athletic ability and commitment to baseball will be a great asset to our team this season. Last year, he led by example with his play and attitude on and off the field. We look for Stevie to follow up his impressive 2008 campaign with another successful season.” Lewis will anchor an outfield that will also include newcomers Nate Smith, Ryan Fleming and Sean Cunningham.
