Kitchener Panthers 7, Oshawa Dodgers 5

In Kitchener, Andy Pietraszko hit a pair of two-run home runs to
power the Panthers to a 7-5 win over the Oshawa Dodgers on
Sunday.
Pietraszko put the Panthers ahead in the eighth inning with a
drive over the centre field wall after Steve Zimmerman struck
out and then reached first base on a wild pitch to extend the
inning. Rich Chanko added two hits and scored a run in the win.
Tom Bertic (1-0) pitched a hitless inning of relief for starter Joel
Scott and Chris Currie closed the game with a scoreless ninth
inning for his first save.
Steve Butterworth (0-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief, giving up
six runs - two earned - and five hits while striking out five batters
and walking four.
Mick Kurhan was three-for-four with a two-run home run in the
second inning and Ryan Balan hit a solo drive to lead off the
fourth inning.
