Oshawa Dodgers 6, St. Thomas Storm 2
In St. Thomas, Ryan Balan singled home the winning run in the
third inning to help the Oshawa Dodgers to a 6-2 win over the
Storm in the first of two games on Sunday.
Steve Butterworth (2-3) was the winner after holding the Storm to
a pair of runs and eight hits in seven innings and Al Stephens
homered and drove in two runs for Oshawa.
Rick Ross (1-4) gave up six runs - five earned - and 10 hits in a
complete game effort for St. Thomas. Kyle Stark had a pair of
singles and drove in a run.
Ryan Crotin had a pair of doubles and drove in the winning run in
the fifth inning to pace Oshawa to an 8-3 win in the second game.
Ryan Fraser (1-0) worked three innings for Oshawa, giving up
three runs and four hits in the win. Chad Stone completed the
game with a scoreless inning of relief.
Chris Gosnell (0-2) worked the complete game for St. Thomas,
giving up eight runs - seven earned - and nine hits.
Junior call-up Ryan Darling hit a solo home run for St. Thomas in
the sixth inning.
