Oshawa Dodgers 10, Toronto Maple Leafs 9
The 724 Dodgers Fans that were at Kinsmen tonight screamed
and cheered the Dodgers (19-15) to another come from behind
victory. Tonight it was against the league leading Toronto Maple
Leafs (24-9).
Ryan Crotin had a night at the plate most ball players only dream
of. First he blasted a 488 foot 2 run Home run, then he belted a
427 foot solo Home run, then he lead of the bottom of the ninth
inning with a triple and scored the winning run on a Ken Calway
Sacrifice fly to deep centre field.
Dodgers starter Matt Tosoni pitch 6 solid inning and left the game
with a 5-4 lead. Steve Butterworth started the 7th inning and got
the batter he needed to.
Chad Stone (4-0) relived Butterworth in the 7th and pitched 1 1/3
innings leaving the game in the 8th with the bases loaded. Jamaal
Joseph (5-0) came in with 2 out and Rob Patterson hit a bases
clearing double to put the Leafs up 9-7.
In the bottom of the 8th the Dodgers fans rallied the team with
their constant cheering and the Dodgers scored 2 in the bottom of
the 8th on a 2 run Home Run by Ryan Balan to tie the score at
9-9.
Joseph shut the door in the 9th and the Leafs went down 1-2-3.
Ryan Crotin lead off the bottom of the ninth with an opposite
field triple and Ken Calway hit a sacrifice fly to deep centre to
score Crotin from third with the winning run.
Crotin said after the game, "It is so much fun to play in front of
this loud a crowd, I can't wait to hear them in the playoffs, they
(the crowd) give us a huge advantage at home".
Mick Kurhan had this to say, "When we fall behind the crowd
gets us pumped up and lately we have responded with come from
behind wins. The playoffs are going to be a nightmare for the
visiting teams"
