Brantford Red Sox 4, Oshawa Dodgers 1
The Oshawa Dodgers lost a heart breaker tonight in game 5 Vs.
Brantford.
In a game that finished 4-1, the score does not show how close
this game was. Dodgers’ starter Ryan Balan pitched 6 innings
giving up 4 runs (1 earned).
Brantford twice, once in the 1st and again in the 4th, had 2 outs
and a runner on 2nd when they hit a routine fly ball to the
outfield for an easy third out, only to have the ball hit a wire (that
runs from light standard to light standard crisscrossing the field 5
times) and drop from the sky for a base hit.
Why an Intercounty Diamond has wires that are in play and be
the deciding factor in a final game 5 is very frustrating.
This game was really a 2-1 game. Both teams played their hearts
out and it was a GREAT series.
This is how close these 2 teams were this series. Brantford scored
26 runs and Oshawa scored 25 runs in the series.
Dodgers top hitters: Pat Tobin 2 for 4, 2 singles, run scored.
Ryan Balan: 2 for 4, 2 singles.
WP- Brett Gibson (2-0)
LP- Ryan Balan (0-2)
Save- Mark Ferguson (1)
