Stratford Storm 5, Oshawa Dodgers 1
In Oshawa, Ken Calway blasted a solo homer run that sparked
the Oshawa Dodgers to a 6-0 win over the Stratford Storm in the
first game of a doubleheader.
Vance Cozier (1-0) tossed six scoreless innings for the win. He
struck out four batters and allowed five hits.
Darryl Reid had a pair of hits, including a two-run single in the
second inning.
Yoel Fernandez (0-1) gave up six runs - five earned - and eight
hits in six innings.
John Hanko had two hits, including a three-run double in the
seventh inning, to pace the Storm to a 5-1 win on the second
game.
Jash Braybee also had two hits and Matt Moyer drove in the
winning run with a single in the seventh inning.
Brian Stewart (1-0) gave up one run and six hits in seven innings
to back the Storm to their first win of the season.
Reliever Blake Farley (0-1) walked both of the batters that he
faced in the seventh inning.
