Oshawa Dodgers 16, Hamilton Cardinals 14

In Oshawa on Minor Baseball day before 614 fans (430 Kids 12 and
under), Pat Tobin was three-for-three with a three-run home run
that helped the Oshawa Dodgers to a 16-14 win over the Hamilton
Cardinals.
Darryl Reid also had three hits for Oshawa, including a double
that brought in the winning run in the fourth inning.
Mick Kurhan, Ken Calway, Adam Sylvestre and Chris Sereda all
had 2 RBI.
Travis Gilligan (1-0) picked up the win after allowing seven runs
and 10 hits in four innings. He struck out seven batters and
walked one.
Starter Gord Robertson (0-0) was tagged for six runs on 6 hits, 1
strike out and 2 walks in three innings of work.  Ryan Fraser
(0-0) pitched 2 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit with 3 walks.

This was a back and forth game with each team having an inning
where they scored 7 runs. I said to Travis after the game that was
the worst pitched and best pitched game I have seen him pitch.
After he gave up 7 runs in the 7th inning to make the score 16-14,
he came out in the 8th and 9th innings and shut the door, striking
out 5 of the final 6 outs said Manager Troy May.

We seem to have gotten our defence back on track as in our last 2
games we have only made 1 error each game, a huge turn around
from our first 5 games were we made a total of 15 errors said
Dodgers coach Gary Minacs.

The Oshawa Dodgers set 3 franchise records today.
One for most runs scored by the Dodgers in a game (16) one for
most runs scored in a Dodgers game by both teams (30) and the
3rd is most hits by both teams in a Dodgers game (32).
