In Oshawa, Rich Butler clubbed a pair of home runs, including a
three-run blast in the first inning to power the Toronto Maple
Leafs to a 24-4 win over the Oshawa Dodgers.
Danny Gibbons was five-for-five at the plate with a pair of home
runs and Kevin Treichel smashed a grand slam in the ninth inning.
Dave Steffler (2-0) gave up three runs - two earned - in six
innings for Toronto.
Oshawa starter Dan Nauth (1-1) lasted just 1 2/3 innings, getting
tagged for 12 runs - seven earned - and 11 hits.
Ken Calway blasted a solo homer for Oshawa in the seventh
inning.
