Barrie Baycats 7, Oshawa Dodgers 1

The Oshawa Dodgers and the Barrie Baycats made Intercounty
Baseball history today in Barrie.
The two teams played the first ever scheduled weekday afternoon (2:
00 PM) game in the 86 year history of the league.
“This was a great event. I hope this becomes an annual game and
Oshawa can host one of these in the future at Kinsmen Memorial
Stadium,” says Dodgers Manager Troy May.
“I personally would like to thank Dave Mills and everyone that was
involved with organizing this game in the Barrie organization.”
Unfortunately the Dodgers did not play very well this afternoon,
coming off the emotional win the night before over the Toronto
Maple Leafs, Oshawa did not get any key hits when they had the
opportunity to score some runs.
Dodgers’ starter Adam Clarke threw a complete game and deserved
better than a 7-1 defeat.
“The only thing I would change in the future is we would not
schedule a game the night before an afternoon game on the road,”
says Oshawa Manager Troy May.
“Barrie was the better team today and full marks to them for a solid
game. “
