Oshawa Dodgers 9, Guelph Royals 2

Sorry for the delay in this posting about the game on Saturday July
2, vs Guelph.
We just got home from a Lacrosse tournament in Ottawa where
Dodgers’ Bat Boy Jamie May was named tournament MVP as his
Whitby Warriors won the tournament with a 6-5 victory over
Kanawake. Jamie allowed a mere 13 goals in the 4 tournament
games.

Oshawa Dodgers 9, Guelph Royals 2

In Guelph, Mick Kurhan had three hits and drove in a run to pace
the Oshawa Dodgers to a 9-2 win over the 3rd place Guelph Royals.
The Dodgers exploded for 7 runs in the second inning to take a
strangle hold on the game.

Steve Butterworth (1-0) allowed two runs and four hits in six innings
for the win. This was Steve's first start of the season after
undergoing back surgery in the off season.
Mark Tourangeau (2-3) was tagged for eight runs - three earned -
and eight hits in two innings. Kevin Hinton belted a solo homer to
put Guelph on the board in the second inning.

The Dodgers would like to announce that Darryl Reid (DH) and
Travis Gilligan (LHP) along with Manager Troy May have been
selected to participate in the 2004 Intercounty All Star game on
Tuesday July 7 in Guelph.
The All Star game pits the defending Intercounty Champions, the
Guelph Royals vs. an All Star team made up of the other 8 teams.
Travis is one of only three rookies to be selected to this years All-
Star game.
