London Majors 6, Oshawa Dodgers 2
In London, John Boom belted a three-run home run in the third
inning that gave the London Majors a 6-2 win over the Oshawa
Dodgers in the first game of a doubleheader.
Boom also singled and Pete Babcock doubled and scored two runs.
Mike Mitro (4-3) went the distance for London, giving up two runs
and six hits while Matt Tosoni (2-3) took the loss after allowing six
runs and nine hits in six innings.
Pat Tobin was two-for-three with a double and drove in a run for
Oshawa.
Kevin MacDonald scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the sixth
inning to help London to a 5-4 win in the second game.
Boom hit a run-scoring double in the sixth inning and Babcock had a
pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Kevin Virtue (4-4) allowed one run and one hit in three innings of
relief for starter Jeremy Middleton, who gave up three runs and five
hits in four innings.
Adam Clarke (1-5) took the loss after surrendering five runs and six
hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Tim Smith was two-for-three and scored two runs for Oshawa.
