In Brantford, John Mariotti doubled and then scored the winning run
to cap a four-run seventh inning that gave the Brantford Red Sox a
7-5 win over the Oshawa Dodgers in one of three games in the
Intercounty Baseball League on Wednesday.
Wayne Forman had a pair of singles and drove in two runs, including
the game-winner, while T.J. Shimizu added three hits, including a
double, and scored three runs.
Tony Bacci (1-0) allowed four runs - three earned - and eight hits in 7
1/3 innings for the win and Matt Miller closed the game for his first
save.
Ben Chisholm (0-1) allowed three runs and five hits in four innings
for Oshawa.
Kyle Sheppard had a pair of singles and drove in two runs and Ken
Calway singled and tripled in the loss.
