In Oshawa, Dave Steffler tossed seven shutout innings to back
the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 10-0 win over the Oshawa Dodgers
in one of two games in the Intercounty Baseball League on
Tuesday.
Steffler (3-0) allowed four hits while striking out six batters and
walking one in the win. Dave Hatch and Doug Dimma each
pitched an inning of relief to preserve the shutout.
Damon Topolie was three-for-four with a pair of doubles and
drove in four runs and Danny Gibbons and Shayne Ridley each
had three hits in the win.
Oshawa starter Alex Baboulas (0-2) took the loss after giving up
six runs - five earned - and five hits in three innings.
