In Toronto, Paul Spoljaric pitched seven shutout innings to back
the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 24-0 win over the Oshawa Dodgers
in the first game of their opening round playoff series on
Wednesday.
Carl Embro had four hits, including a homer, and drove in four
runs. Hans Schnell, Joe Colameco, Shayne Ridley, Danny Gibbons
and Gamin Teague also homered for Toronto.
Spoljaric (1-0) allowed six hits and struck out nine batters in the
win.
Oshawa starter Ben Chisholm (0-1) suffered the loss for Oshawa.
