In Oshawa, Josh Palmer pitched a complete game five-hitter, leading the first place London Majors past the Oshawa Dodgers 8-0.
Palmer struck out four and walked three in a dominating performance to give the Majors a 2-0 lead in the series, while also saving the London bullpen for the rest of the series, which will feature five more games in five nights, weather permitting.
The Majors blew opened the game with four runs in the fourth inning off Oshawa starter and loser Adam Garner and added three more runs in the sixth.
Rudy Vallejos had two hits and drove in three runs for the Majors, while Kevin Virtue added a pair of doubles and Jess Bechard homered and had two RBI.
Steve Wickens had two hits in a losing cause for Oshawa. Garner went 5 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs – just three earned – on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
