Dodgers Pound Out 16 Hits in Victory Over Thunderbirds In front of over 500 fans on NASC Softball Day, the Dodgers pounded out 16 hits to hand the Hamilton Thunderbirds their 12th straight loss to open the season, downing the T-Birds 9-3.
Chris Nagorski pitched seven solid innings for the win, allowing three runs – two earned – on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks as the Dodgers improved to 7-5 with the victory.
Marcus Knecht had three hits for the Dodgers, including a home run, and drove in three runs. Daniel Marra added two hits and drove in a pair of runs and Ryan Fleming homered and drove in a pair of runs for Oshawa. Adam Morton, Jordan Castaldo and Peter Bako all had two hits for the Dodgers. Cam Alkins pitched the final two innings allowing only two hits.
Ryan Van Spronsen was the loser for Hamilton, allowing seven runs on 13 hits over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out two and walked one.
John Saporsantos and Jordan Windisch led the losers with two hits and an RBI each.
