Lewis Gold Glove Award Winner
Stevie Lewis, a senior outfielder from Markham, Ontario, finished
with a .335 average this year for Southern Nazerene University,
along with six homers and 43 RBI’s. But, it was his glove that
earned Lewis the Gold Glove honor. Lewis finished the 2008
season with 84 put outs and six assists with only three errors on the
year. Lewis had a fielding percentage of .968.

of the Week honours, Stevie Lewis has been
awarded the first NAIA Player of the Week
award for the 2008 season for his outstanding
performance the week of March 10th.
Stevie batted a remarkable .667 going 10-for-15
with 13 RBI and 11 runs scored in five games.
He was a part of four wins helping the Crimson
Storm sweep Northwestern Oklahoma State in a
three-game set. He added two home runs, one
double one steal and was walked seven times. With an exceptional
start to his collegiate season, the Dodgers anticipate another
impressive Intercounty season for IBL all-star and team MVP Stevie
Lewis.

The Oshawa Dodgers would like to congratulate their
bat boy Jamie May who was named to the Eastern
Ontario Baseball Association All-Star Team. The team,
coached by Hugh Walters and Paul Quantrill, will play
at the Provincial All-Star Peewee Tournament at the
CNE August 18-19 and the Newmarket All-Star
Tournament September 15-16. With the Oshawa
Legionaires this season Jamie is among the team
leaders in batting average and on base percentage and has been
stellar behind the plate as the team’s starting catcher.

Lewis Gold Glove Award Winner
Stevie Lewis, a senior outfielder from Markham, Ontario, finished
with a .335 average this year for Southern Nazerene University,
along with six homers and 43 RBI’s. But, it was his glove that
earned Lewis the Gold Glove honor. Lewis finished the 2008
season with 84 put outs and six assists with only three errors on the
year. Lewis had a fielding percentage of .968.

In the only game this week Tyler was 3-for-4 including a double and an RBI and was perfect defensively with a putout, 5 assists and turned a double play. Johnstone was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 4th. In six regular season games with the Dodgers he hit a combined .360 going 9-for-25 with 2 stolen bases, 3 walks and 6 RBI. |
